The present book brings together the results of the author's former investigations and develops them in a new historical perspective. Starting from the basic idea that the Semites in the strict sense of the word must be identified with the ancient Beduin, Professor Moscati investigates the vicissitudes of these Beduin from their appearance on the stage of history up to their penetration into the lands surrounding the desert and the dissolution of their primitive unity. Thus the cycle of the history of the Semites is brought to its close, and the history of the Semitic peoples begins.
