Ann Griffiths was born in 1776. Her short life was one of complete dedication to God and the Methodist cause. She is remembered in particular for her hymns, the longest of which has described as 'one of the greatest religious poems in any European language'. With the present rapidly increasing interest in the study of spirituality it is important that the stature of Ann Griffiths be more widely recognised. She holds a unique place in the spiritual history of Britain.
