The Poets of the Welsh Princes is a revised and expanded edition of the much praised volume first published in 1978 by Professor J. E. Caerwyn Williams. The book deals principally with Beirrd y Tywysogion or the Poets of the Princes, most of whom were employed in the courts of the Welsh Princes during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. In this volume, Professor Williams places these poets in their historical context and examines the manin themes manifested in their surviving work. He makes extensive use of quotations to illustrate the range and quality of some of their best poetry.
