The Input-Output Tables for Wales in 1995 provide a comprehensive
and detailed description of the economy. The tables provide estimates
of inter-industry and external trade linkages, as well as industries
relationships with consumers and government sectors. This publication
builds on, and further develops, the analysis provided by the
1994 tables, adding to our knowledge and understanding of the
Welsh economy whilst continuing to provide an analytical framework
for the assessment of policy and industrial changes in Wales.
This is the second in what is intended as an annual series of
Welsh Tables, which will then allow the structural analysis of
economy-wide changes over time.
The book includes a brief description of how the Input-Output Tables were estimated and compiled, together with a discussion of economic and methodological changes since 1994. The Input-Output Tables for Wales are a standard reference for those seeking to understand and analyse the Welsh economy and its internal and external trade.
