UWP is delighted that Gregory Lewis: The Gothic and Romantic Literary Culture by Dale Townshend (Gothic Literary Studies series, 2024) was announced as the winner of the Allan Lloyd Smith Prize for the monograph best advancing the field of Gothic studies at the IGA conference, University of Hull, 28−31 July 2026.
Horror and Comics (Horror Studies series, 2025), edited by Barbara Chamberlin, Kom Kunyosying and Julia Round, was shortlisted for the Justin D. Edwards Prize, recognising edited collections considered to have significantly advanced the field of Gothic studies.
The judging panel commented that ‘The books submitted this year were extremely strong, and our judges were highly impressed by the quality of work from all our long-listed authors and editors!’
